Fall.. a new beginning...

Hello to all my long lost bloggy friends!! It has been soooo long and I have missed you all so much! I haven't been here for way to many reasons to mention in one post but maybe over the next little while we will peel away at that onion one layer at a time. The most important thing tho, is I'm Baaack!! and I am here to stay. I have done quite a few projects, so I have some to share and my mind is full so there will be more!! First and foremost it is time for me to reorganize my life, there is just something about the season of Autumn that makes me want things to be organized, clean and cozy. So to start in that direction I am going to start the Happy Homes Organization plan again! It worked so great the first time that it is time to jump right back on that horse again! My Happy House has such a simple and effective organizing plan that anyone can do it, and with my hectic life that is exactly what I need. So who's going to do it with me? Come on lets all get ready for a cozy fall and an organized holiday season! Week one: Make your bed every morning, or evening, just make it- everyday. Easy peasy, right? Its amazing how much better you feel to climb into a nice warm MADE bed every night!
Look how comfy that looks, I can't wait! Well lets see if we can do it for the entire week! Until later, Hugs, Shelly

Craft room redo...

I had been working on my Craft room redo for quite awhile and had it just about finsished it when I got some new information...my oldest son and my two year old grandie Rayden were moving home on New Years Day! It is fun to have a little one running around but I do miss the space and my Dining room now looks like hoarders are living in my little cottage! I do have some pictures of some of the things I had done to share though, so I hope you enjoy- This room will again some day be my craft and dressing room, hence the sign on the wall-
I love this little shelf vignette with candles, ribbon and bling! Aren't the glow in the dark moon and stars and the sun mirror fun?!
This wall holds most of my organization stuff- my ribbon organizer, my paper drawers, my sewing machince and my homemade white board and magnet boards-

I loved how this room was evolving and I can't wait to work on it again, but for now I am just going to enjoy my grandie!

Until later,
Hugs,
Shelly

Kitchen redo....

Remember this post of my kitchen?
Kitchen before.

Well while I was away I made a few changes-
This is a picture of the kitchen during this remodel.
Hubster doing some cabinet painting.
This is the paint we used.
Backsplash in progress, I bought the round clear colored stones at the dollar store and put them up with tile adhesive and then filled them in with grout, really so easy! I have to give thanks and credit to Laura at Design Share, for this idea. Thank you so much Laura, I loved it in your kitchen and I love it in mine!
Finished cabinets.
Finsished backsplash.
Finished kitchen. (well almost, still need to do tiny little finish things!)
I really can not believe how easy this was, it did take time, but was really amazingly easier than I thought it would be and I love it! It brightens up my kitchen so much!

I hope you enjoy my new kitcen as much as I do!

Until later,
Hugs,
Shelly

Spring time (I wish :() table top...

Question: Will we ever have Spring/Summer weather here in northern Utah?! Seriously, I've got the blues :( I need some sunshine!! I think I may have to go tanning to get some Vitamin D in my body! Anyway, I decided that if I decorated for Spring, maybe it would feel more like Spring.
I decided to go with this sheet as a tableclothe because it is very springy and it only cost me $.99 at Savers!

Here is a close-up of the place setting.
I got these cute plates at Savers too, I just think they are so cute and I love the flowers!
And finally the center -
How is that for a little more Cheer?!

Until later,
Hugs,
Shelly

Me, Me Monday... Please don't judge...

Okay, before I show this next picture please understand my little cottage/house was built in 1943, back when rooms were itty-bitty and storage was unheard of. For most of the 11 years of us living in this house this room was Ashley's. After she moved out it became the room where everything was thrown. The idea was for me to eventually use it as a craft room. Well, I am so embarrassed to say that this is what it became;
I know, I know I should be ashamed and I am, it is horrible!!

Because it is a small space and things are so cramped even if it was somehow straightened I couldn't find anything. I occasionally buy frames or framed pictures etc. for future projects and I also have some pictures I like to switch out occasionally so I decided that I needed to find a way to use every square inch of space. I know this is cluttered but it is actually very organized and functional. So here is my craft room now -
Crazy crowded I know but it works because I can see every frame and picture that I own.
The white shelf holds all my paints, glues, unframed pictures and tools.
The brown shelf holds all our games, movies, CDs and more of my craft stuff ie. fabrics, wall-papers, candles and flowers.
This little corner is the hubster's, it has his dresser, his pictures and awards and his hats.
His closet is also in here.
Close-up of all my spray paint, I love this stuff and obviously need more!!
More craft storage!
This shelf is pretty amazing it holds a ton of stuff!!

I notice that the floor doesn't show in any of these pics, but I promise after I picked everythng up there really is a floor in this teeny-tiny room.
Well, I know it isn't all fancy-shmancy like alot of them out here on blog land but its all I've got and it works. And honestly, I kind of like it!

Until later,

Tablescape Tuesday...

I am showing off the counter into my kitchen this week as my tabletop:
But I am showing this mostly so I can show off this new addition to my kitchen, the hubster helped me hang this on Mother's Day and I love, love it!
View from the other side:
I made it out of an old glass door of an entertainment center, that I painted white and scuffed up a bit, I am so happy with it!

I am linking up with A Stroll Through Life's 64th Table Top Tuesday

Me, Me Monday, Salt and Pepper Shakers...

Somehow I got started collecting Salt and Pepper Shakers so I thought I would share them with you!
I will start with my Easter ones that are out and about my house! These little eggs are on my table -

These little bunnies are in my greeting into the kitchen
These little lambs are on one of my counter tops -
These are my fav easter shakers they sit on a platter that holds boiled or deviled eggs, I just love the whole set!
Now for the rest of the collection -

These little guys are in my window sill

These are both some of my favorites, I love the big roosters and I am a HUGE Denver Broncos fan!

This is my cabinet full of shakers
Here is a close-up of each shelf -
And last but not least, this little shelf really holds some of my very favorites, alot of them are antique!

I hope you've enjoyed my collection.
Until later,

Me, Me Monday, Living Room edition....

This week I would like to invite you into my living room! It is a combination of many styles and I really like it!

This is the view coming in from the front door.

These views are from the dining room.
Please notice the floor, it is painted cement with a throw rug. The paint is tan and blue in kind of a swirl design, the hubster did it and it is AWESOME!!

These pics are taken from our bedroom.
Do you love this couch?! I got it at the DI for $45. It used to be in the Ogden Temple, they are remodeling right now so there are a few pieces at the store. I saw it and knew it had to be in my living room! Total love at first sight!

My Family Wall.

Here are a few different views.(Please ignore the dust under the fireplace, we are still using it occasionally so I haven't spring cleaned it yet, ewwww!)

I hope you have enjoyed your visit as much as I have enjoyed having you!
Please come back soon!

Until later,
Hugs,
Shelly
