Finance Friday...

Payday-woohoo! Not really, well it is payday but you know how it is you get paid and pay it all out. Oh well, I am feeling good about our new system. Paying write now, no any auto-withdrawls, we all no how that did not work for me! Also the hubster and I working on this together so we are both aware of what is going on and it is so nice, there is no blaming going on!

Time for happy time!!

It is Thursday and therefore time for a little happiness. You have all heard me say before that I love, love my job, I really do, I love the people, the work, the atmosphere and the artwork on the walls. We are lucky enough that Weber State University lets us have some of thier art work on display in our office. It is awesome, alot of it is of our area back in the 20's but my fav is this piece

It may seem strange that I like this piece so much and I am not really an artsy girl, in a museum type way, but I think that this is Jeremiah Johnson and Robert Redford played him in the movie and it was an awesome movie!! So therefore this pic makes me happy!

My next happy Thursday thing is my animals! I love them, I can't imagine not having them. So here is a pic of Milo and Blue

She is back...Yay!

So my friend Shirley is one of those people that I call my best friend but so does every other friend she has, she is the type of person that would do anyting for anyone. She is 69 years young and raising her 14 year-old deaf grandchild, who can be a little stink but is also adorable. Well about a week ago, Shirley woke up very dizzy and decided to drive herself to the hospital (because none of her best friends would have taken her) when she got there the security guard actually wondered if she was drunk because she was to dizzy to walk. I could kick her little but for driving, rrggg!
Anyway, her blood pressure was through the roof and her heart beat was irregular so they checked her in to run every test they could think of. The main point of this blog is that Shirley knew she needed to see a doctor for a while but was a little bit afraid so she got sick enough that she needed a stay in the hospital. Now she is out of the hospital and has seen the doctor for the original ailments and also others like the knee that has been hurting her for years and I think she is feeling better than ever and no longer afraid to see the doctor. Yay!! I am happy she is doing better and that she is back at work!

Finance Fresh Start caused by embarrassment...

Okay I swear this happened to me and I am almost embarrassed to admit it but sometimes in desperation you do really embarassing stuff. In January I went online to pay a house payment and because 2 months were due it said it would not take a lessar payment of just one month, so I left the site and called the hubster and asked him to call and make the payment. So guess what!? 2 payments went through, one online and one from the phone call. UGHH, frustrating!!! If I could have afforded 2 payments I would have just made them online to begin with. So here I am struggling to make ends meet and now I have $875 less to pay bills with. Are you kidding me?! So then,and I kid you not, my next payday just two weeks later, after making arrangments with one of those payday loan places (I know, I know this is where the embarrassing desperation comes in) with someone who was very nice and accomodating and after putting a stop payment on all the checks that I had written to that lovely place, they did an automatic withdrawl of $400 without my knowledge or permission (other than the fact that apparently in the fine print of the contract you sign with them you no longer have any control of your checking account any more and they can take money out of it at any time they see fit) so again unable to pay life sustaining bills such as power and gas. So annoyed!! So the only solution I can come up with is to change accounts and start fresh. So the hubster and I sat down and discussed all of this and decided that he and I will only use cash for our personal expenses which include gas for our cars, gifts for the babies etc. So the first expense will be our allowance and then the bills will come. Wish us luck!! I will report weekly with our progress!

Things that make me Happy Thursday...

First I have to say that I am so sorry about the quality of my pictures, really I only have my phone camera :( Someday I will get a grown-up camera but until then I still want to share so it is what it is.

So my first thing that makes me happy this Thursday is this amazing frosting, I mean seriously it makes me, the total non talented froster become spectacular, here is the before pics..

and here is the beautiful after!! I mean really isn't that beautiful, it makes me look like a professional! I am not being paid to advertise this I just am amazed by it, so I have to share!

Yummy that makes me hungry!

The second thing that makes me happy on this Thursday is my Rooster Tiles! I love farm animals and I have alot of them in my kitchen and dining room, the Roosters just add to the cute country look that I love so much!

So sweet!! My son Brian and his little wifey Tina gave me money they said they owed me, so I got my nails done!! I know, not very thrifty but I really hated them before.

I decided to decorate my table top for Valentines Day, just for fun!! I love the romance of Valentines Day and the Hubster thought it looked romantic too.

Isn't it sweet? I have had the two red and white plates for 26 years, they are the last 2 remaining pieces of a 26 piece set. I found the glasses at Dollar Tree. I bought the table runner and placemats from ABC 8 years ago. The rest is just stuff I stole from around the house.
