Me, Me Monday... Please don't judge...

Okay, before I show this next picture please understand my little cottage/house was built in 1943, back when rooms were itty-bitty and storage was unheard of. For most of the 11 years of us living in this house this room was Ashley's. After she moved out it became the room where everything was thrown. The idea was for me to eventually use it as a craft room. Well, I am so embarrassed to say that this is what it became;
I know, I know I should be ashamed and I am, it is horrible!!

Because it is a small space and things are so cramped even if it was somehow straightened I couldn't find anything. I occasionally buy frames or framed pictures etc. for future projects and I also have some pictures I like to switch out occasionally so I decided that I needed to find a way to use every square inch of space. I know this is cluttered but it is actually very organized and functional. So here is my craft room now -
Crazy crowded I know but it works because I can see every frame and picture that I own.
The white shelf holds all my paints, glues, unframed pictures and tools.
The brown shelf holds all our games, movies, CDs and more of my craft stuff ie. fabrics, wall-papers, candles and flowers.
This little corner is the hubster's, it has his dresser, his pictures and awards and his hats.
His closet is also in here.
Close-up of all my spray paint, I love this stuff and obviously need more!!
More craft storage!
This shelf is pretty amazing it holds a ton of stuff!!

I notice that the floor doesn't show in any of these pics, but I promise after I picked everythng up there really is a floor in this teeny-tiny room.
Well, I know it isn't all fancy-shmancy like alot of them out here on blog land but its all I've got and it works. And honestly, I kind of like it!

Until later,

Fabulous finds friday...

First of all I just want to let all of you devoted blogster friends know that I am 4 followers away from the big 100!
how awesome is that? So, I will be having an AWESOME giveaway and I mean seriously AWESOME! So please stay tuned and invite your friends to check me out!

On to the finds, first I found this little pitcher just big enough to hold one flower and I love it!
Another view-it is just so delicate. Oh yeah, it cost me a whole $1.50

Next I really wanted a bird cage, so I went on a search and I found this on my first time out -
I really like it, but I can't decide if I should paint it to brighten it up or just leave it, what do you think? I thought $3.00 was a steal.

Lastly, I found this cool little basket as Shopko -
It is made out of magazine pages! Isn't that the coolest thing ever?! I am going to try to copy and make one myself. It was on clearance so I paid a whopping $4.49.

What I love Thursday repost...

I posted this yesterday and somehow it vanished so I am reposting..

I am so thankful that this little angel (and his mommy) get to live with me -
Look at him posing for the camera at the age of 2 1/2 months, what a little ham!

I am also so thankful that this little angel (and her parents) lived with me until she was 6 months old -

I wish all my grandies could have lived with me when they were tiny, they are so much fun!

Look what I made!.....

For Mother's Day this year I made these really adorable, really easy jewelry frames for my daughters, daughter-in-laws, Mom (of course), two of my lovely friends and also as a B-day gift for a teenager -whew, seriously I made about ten of these babies!

I started with this-
Alot of scrapbook paper and modpodge.

and this -
Plastic canvas and many colors of Krylon Spray paint.

and this -
Fabric, fake flower wire, gorilla glue and/or hot glue.

and this -
Frames and again, many colors of Krylon Spray paint.

Here we are in process:
First the letters - I just ripped the paper and modpodged it to the letters.
Then the flowers - I just wrapped the fabric around the wire and rolled it, gluing as I went. I discovered half way through that I really didn't need the wire. Oh well, what ever works best for you is the way to go!
The plastic canvas covered with lace - I spray painted some of the canvas and some I didn't, then I covered them with lace, but you don't have too.
The frames - Just sray painted the frames, they don't have to be perfect, you want them to have character.
I added this Krylon glitter to some of the frames -
Then I put them all together and added little hooks for necklaces, bracelets or rings.
Here are the final results -
Here are some close-ups -

Earrings hook to the canvas. Rings, necklaces, bracelets and watches hang on the hooks. They look so cute hanging on the wall, just like artwork that serves a purpose. How awesome is that?!

I hope you enjoy looking at these as much as I enjoyed making them! I am linking to

Tablescape Tuesday...

I am showing off the counter into my kitchen this week as my tabletop:
But I am showing this mostly so I can show off this new addition to my kitchen, the hubster helped me hang this on Mother's Day and I love, love it!
View from the other side:
I made it out of an old glass door of an entertainment center, that I painted white and scuffed up a bit, I am so happy with it!

Migraines and Mothers Day...

Okay, so I am still struggling with my lovely headaches and when I say struggling you should know that really, they are just part of me. They are actually part of what defines me. I have had headaches for as long as I can remember. When I was a little girl and a teenager my parents just thought I liked meds because I was always asking for Tylenol or Ibuprofen, anything to try to knock the headache. But as I grew older and became in charge of my own health I realized that having a headache everyday is NOT normal, for other people anyway, unfortuneately for me it is. Honestly, at the end of a day if I notice I haven't had a headache it suprises me, my normal days are not without headaches. I have tried so many meds, it is crazy! Some of my favorites are Topomax which for me really was Dopomax, seriously, I became so dumb on this drug, I could not talk, I could not funcion and I have a job that I kind of need to function at so that wasn't good. Another favorite was Percocet, nice little drug that causes a nice little addiction!!, I do sometimes take Imitrex but you build a tolerance. So after trying those and many, many others I went to a nuerologist who said quit taking them all. You know the spill exercise, watch what you eat, blah, blah, blah! I was so frustrated because I had already heard that from my doctor, so nothing new, no soltutions. So I am on a quest, I have to figure this out some how and I truly believe that drugs are NOT the answer. I am tired of my headaches defining my day, my work, my blog, my life! I have given up my Diet Dr. Pepper, I sleep sitting up (about 8 pillows under and behind me), next I will be starting exercise, just 20 minutes EVERY day, this exercise is not about losing weight, which could only be a bonus, but about moving oxygen throughout my body and brain, maybe that will help, right?! Some Doctors are now starting to say that Chronic Migraines could be an Auto-Immune Disease, which do run in my family, so maybe some research on that would be great, who knows. All I do know is that if I want to get better it is up to me!!

I hate to be all negative- so I want to share how great my Mother's Day was, so sorry if this is a bit long blogwinded! I had such a great Mothers Day, the Hubster spoiled me with breakfast out, a beautiful outside hanging plant (sorry I forgot to get a pic), a new coffee maker
and an awesome toaster that actually cooks eggs at the same time as toast!
now all my small appliances match! Woo-hoo!
My Navy Boy sent me flowers!
My Daughter gave me an 'Adele'CD
I got cards from some of my kids and texts from the others, some of my grandbabies came to see me! It really was such a great day, I really love being a Mom!

Fun friday finds...

Have you ever gone thrifting and had something call to you? I had seen this goose at Savers and I swear he kept calling for me to get him. I ignored. But after about the 3rd time of him calling for me I gave in and now he has a cozy little place filled with goodies for my grandies on my counter!

I love this little house tea pot/creamer thing, honestly I am not sure what it is but it is adorable!

These two little cuties actually came seperate but I put the cow in the little bottle when I got home and he has remained there.

Thankful Thursday...

Okay, so I will admit it my blog has been a little bit lame this week, but I have a good excuse, I took a staycation with the hubster. It was so nice, just hanging out, thrifting and working on projects. I promise there will be something to show for it in the near future. I just happen to have alot in process and nothing finished! For this Thursday I am so thankful for...
My Hubster!! He really is the greatest, I could not do half of the projects I do without his help! I am the luckiest girl in the world!
